James M. Wortzman

James Wortzman joined Teplitsky Colson in 1986 and became a partner shortly thereafter. Mr. Wortzman was called to the Ontario Bar in 1984 and obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1982.

Since his call to the bar, Mr. Wortzman's practice has been restricted to most forms of litigation, with a focus on the resolution of complex real estate development, property and contractual claims on behalf of a variety of clients throughout Canada. Mr. Wortzman and his group also act on a myriad of litigious disputes including shareholder and partnership claims, municipal related litigation, breach of contract claims, construction related litigation, oppression remedies, professional negligence claims, quasi-criminal offences, to name only a few.

Mr. Wortzman has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and has often appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Divisional Court. Mr. Wortzman has also appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mr. Wortzman has been lead counsel in many cases that proceeded to trial and has a team of associates that work with him to ensure that his clients are fully and competently served in a timely and professional manner. In this regard Mr. Wortzman is assisted in his practice by Jonathan Kulathungam, Karey Dhirani and Michael Gayed.
